My child has been going to Hummingbird in Westmont for the last several months for occupational and vision therapy and I can’t help but sign praises! Our primary therapist, Anna, is so kind, and creative and encouraging. She is also so obviously invested in my child’s progress. Over the summer we had a number of sessions we needed to make up because of travel, and we took the opportunity to book extra sessions to accelerate progress. These sessions were often with another therapist - I think we met with 4 new people - and every single time, Anna had prepped them so that everyone was very aware of goals and progress. I imagine that high level of quality communication outside of the therapy sessions takes time and dedication and we are so appreciative to reap the benefits! From the moment I spoke to the child and family advocate, Gabby, I knew I was in the right place for my son. Everyone I've encountered with so far is extremely kind, passionate and goes above and beyond for their families and children. The process to get my son into Hummingbird was seamless and that made things so much easier for me as a busy parent. My son just recently started at Hummingbird, but I truly have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience thus far. She is so insightful and thoughtful with her approach for the sessions with my 7 year old daughter.  We have only been going to Hummingbird for a year and it has brought so many coping strategies, ideas for supporting emotional challenges, routines at home, and so much love and support to both my daughter and my husband and I. Ms. Brittany is a wealth of knowledge, she's incredibly flexible and adjusts her plans based on my daughter's zone when she enters OT each day.  The relationship she's formed with my daughter is one filled with support, fun, and so much love!  My daughter truly loves her time with Ms. Brittany every week! The progress my daughter has made in one year is monumental! When I think back to her many emotional challenges and the strain it put on our family as we tried to navigate her needs prior to OT, I am beyond grateful for Hummingbird and all that Ms. Brittany does each week with my daughter!

She did an intense metronome program with our son and he made significant progress. We plan on working with her again once our schedule allows. We highly recommend Hummingbird, but in particular Kaitlyn. She is a highly skilled OT but also has a great personality and a pleasant temperament for kids like ours. Her communication is excellent as well, and she also had a lot of innovative ideas and resources on regulation and development.

My son was in 4th and 5th grade, so he wasn’t always thrilled about going to his weekly appointments, but she made it fun for him. Alyssa helped point out the visual processing difficulties and got us in touch with an ocular therapist. There was always good communication and we feel well supported! From the very beginning in feeding therapy, she made him feel safe and supported and connected with him right away. Thanks to her patience and dedication, he now eats a wide variety of foods with confidence. We’ve since transitioned into speech therapy, and she continues to be just as wonderful. My son truly loves working with Amy, and I appreciate how she teaches me practical techniques I can use at home every day. She is calm, reassuring, and incredibly knowledgeable. Hummingbird has been an incredible experience for us.  Our son received speech and OT, and we were also apart of the Academy program during the summer and school year.  I cannot rave about everyone there and their programs. Not only is it a clean, safe, engaging, and beautiful facility, the people there are truly amazing.   Whether it is Diana supporting us through insurance matters, Nadine and Natalia helping us with scheduling/make ups, Christina tailoring the academy times to fit our families needs/schedule,  our wonderful speech and OT therapists Elizabeth and Maggie, as well as all the wonderful therapists our son has had in Academy, everyone goes above and beyond for the best interest of the children.  In our experience this is hard to come by, and Hummingbird is extremely unique in that way.  We drove 30 minutes 3 days a week to be able to come to Hummingbird, and our son never once complained.  He would light up when we entered the parking lot.  They not only supported our son, but helped our family through a journey that has not been easy.  We will be eternally grateful, and I cannot recommend them enough!

Luke has been seeing Sara for 2.5 years. When they met, he wasn’t sitting or crawling (2 years old) after a surgery set him back. He has a rare disease resulting in hypotonia and a profound visual impairment. Sara jumped into helping Luke with both feet and open arms. She took a scared little boy and made him believe in himself. He loves therapy and is now taking steps with a walker. Sara is incredible- smart, creative, loves problem solving and thinking big. She doesn’t put limits on these kids. She’s always challenging Luke and he makes phenomenal progress. Luke spends his sessions working hard, all while laughing and screaming with joy. The love Sara has for the kids she works with is incredible and she forms amazing relationships, letting kids feel safe, loved and empowered! We started seeing Sara at another clinic and have followed her to Hummingbird. The hour drive both ways is worth every second! Sara doesn’t stop at the clinic. She is a big part of our family and our annual UMDF walk, dedicating her free time to supporting Luke and walking him across the finish line. If you are looking for a PT and if anyone has told you that your kid might not be able to accomplish something- go see Sara. She doesn’t think in terms of limits, only possibilities. On another note, we are thrilled to have been so warmly welcomed to Hummingbird by Lindsey and the entire team. I don’t know how the team fit Luke into Sara’s schedule (considering we had one afternoon we could make it work), but they did! Everyone I spoke to and worked with has been absolutely incredible. We can’t wait to start one of the social programs over the summer to help him prepare for Kindergarten. A special thank you to Lindsey who dedicated her time to helping and educating mitochondrial disease children at the UMDF walk, proving to be a vital resource to this community. We had never met and I reached out to her to ask if she’d like to be part of something special to us and she enthusiastically agreed. Hummingbird is an incredibly special place, filled with a team that truly cares. Thank you ♥️

We worked with another SLP group and were discouraged with her progress, but have regained hope.
