Meet The Team

Ms. Sara, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapist
Westmont Location
From a young age, Sara was drawn to helping others and knew she wanted a career that would make a meaningful impact in the lives of many people. With a mother who is an occupational therapist, she grew up around the therapy field. Sara’s passion for physical therapy was solidified when her younger cousin, born with agenesis of the corpus callosum, made incredible progress through years of therapy. Watching those milestones and therapy wins, from walking with a walker to running up for a hug, inspired her to become a physical therapist dedicated to helping children reach their fullest potential.
Sara’s favorite part of being a pediatric physical therapist is witnessing the “firsts” — the first time a child rolls over, the first time they sit up on their own, the first independent steps, or even the first time they feel confident climbing a set of stairs. Those moments, big or small, are beyond rewarding and are the best part of her job! She loves being able to be creative, have fun, and be a kid at heart, all while helping children build the strength and skills to participate more fully and independently in their world.
Sara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a Psychology minor from Augustana College in Rock Island and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in Chicago.
Sara is certified in:
- Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) Level B
- The Listening Program (TLP)
- Certified Theratogs Fitter (Level 1 and 2)
She expands her knowledge and expertise through continuing education courses in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), The Listening Program (TLP), Developmental Orthopedics, and Theratogs.
When Sara is away from work, she loves staying active through working out, hiking, and playing soccer and softball! Also, she loves game nights, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and adorable pups! A fun fact about Sara is that her younger sister and she are six years apart and both share a birthday on Halloween! Candy and presents for the win!
Sara’s favorite quote is, “To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.” – Dr. Seuss
