Ms. Shelby, LCSW

Shelby is passionate about helping children grow, succeed, and build confidence in themselves. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective work, and she uses play-based approaches and a strengths-focused lens to support children in expressing and processing their emotions. Her goal is to empower each child to feel capable, independent, and understood.

Shelby has significant experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She is a certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist and has completed her certification as a DIR/Floortime Provider.

Shelby earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Xavier University and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her niece, friends, and family. She loves being outdoors, going on walks, or cozying up with her cats and a good book.
