Meet The Team

Ms. Michelle S., LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Westmont Location

Michelle became a social worker because supporting children and families has always been her passion. She believes that everyone needs someone to walk alongside them during life’s difficult seasons, and she considers it a true privilege to be that support. Michelle finds deep joy in helping kids learn and grow. Watching them gain confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve goals that once felt out of reach is the heart of her work!

Throughout her career, Michelle has served children and families in a variety of settings. From working with families in the NICU and pediatric inpatient units to counseling in elementary schools, and even being a foster parent herself, she brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her work.

Michelle’s favorite part of being a social worker is celebrating the small wins and those meaningful moments of growth that build the foundation for lasting change!

Michelle earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology from Hope College. She went on to earn dual Master’s degrees in Child Development and Social Work through the Erikson Institute and Loyola University Chicago.

Michelle continues to grow her expertise through ongoing training in crisis intervention, attachment, trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and neurodivergence. She is currently pursuing certification in play therapy to further enhance her therapeutic approach.

Outside of work, Michelle loves being a mom and planning family trips! She enjoys traveling and discovering new places, but what brings her the most joy is watching her kids experience new adventures and learn about different cultures along the way.

Michelle’s favorite quote is, “It always seems impossible until it’s done” – Nelson Mandela
