Ms. Kelsie, MOT, OTR/L

Kelsie was inspired to become a pediatric occupational therapist by her younger brother, who received speech and developmental therapy through Early Intervention. While she initially planned to pursue speech therapy, she was introduced to occupational therapy early in college and quickly discovered her passion for the field. She values how occupational therapy empowers individuals to build independence and succeed in their daily lives.

Her favorite part of working in pediatrics is the boundless creativity children bring and their unique perspectives on the world. She finds it incredibly rewarding to support their growth and help them reach their goals through fun and engaging activities that build confidence, encourage independence, and promote playful exploration of their abilities.

Kelsie has experience across a variety of settings, including outpatient pediatric clinics, schools, and acute care. She has worked with both stroke survivors and children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), supporting development in fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, social and emotional skills, and activities of daily living.

Kelsie earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Occupational Therapy from North Central College. 

Outside of work, Kelsie enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, reading, working out, going on walks, spending time with friends and family, and traveling to new places.
